Walther Reed Hospital: Don't Believe the Hype
Do some investigative work when it comes to Walter Reed Hospital. Inside sources(many current and retired veterans) feel this is another media hype incident. If it were not for Congress and all members of our political community taking up over 50% of the hospital's assets, this hospital could be run a bit better. In fact, members of congress/senate, etc, get FREE healthcare for life for themselves and their families. Are you kidding? That is even better than the astronomical raises this group tend to give themselves every year while only working a little over 2 months per year. Now consider this: A soldier returns from serving our country with non threatening injuries and goes to Walter Reed. He has to be put into a room(a temporary suite that used to be office space) because their are no immediate beds due to an overcrowding created by congress and their families. This location is where the pictures were taken to show the poor care given to our military. This was only temporary and the cause was impart due to the same ASSHOLEs(and their families) that brought so much noise in this matter. I do not believe I heard one member of congress suggest that he/she or their families, find fee for service healthcare at another facility due to these "poor" conditions. Of course not. Its free for life, the care is quite good in reality, and it wouldnt help their witch hunt to dismiss "the greatest military physician" in the country. This is just another attempt of our leftist freinds painting our country as some evil power. We do no good in their eyes and the troubles of the world are ALL caused by our horrible, horrible country. Go figure.

GO RAMS!!!

Now that the dust has really settled on the George Mason Patriots miraculous run last year(they did not even receive an NIT bid for 2007), it is time to turn our CAA focus on the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth. They ran the entire season on top of the CAA and clinched the automatic berth by beating last year's darlings in the finals of the CAA Tourney. Sadly, they probably would not have gotten an At Large at 27-6, winners of their conference over 2 teams that the selection committee seemed to like a lot more(ODU and Drexel) VCU did take the drama out of selection Sunday by running thru Georgia State, Drexel and George Mason to win the CAA championship for the 2nd time in 4 years. They were un/fortunate to draw the Duke Blue Devils. However, if Duke has had one area(actually several) of trouble its been with teams that have strong guard play. That is VCUs strength this year, and after Eric Maynard's final 2 minute takeover vs GM, that should continue to be a problem for the Blue Devils. All small school fans, keep your fingers crossed that the CAA will shine once again with a big upset of the Mighty ACC behemoth Duke Blue Devils.

Star Wars

OK, I have never stood(slept) in a line waiting for the next movie premier. I do not own any paraphernalia(minus a couple of gag gifts). I have no video games, I search no Star Wars Web sites and have never named a pet or child after any character. However, I do own about 55 books about the Saga starting in 1994. Now I claim I am not a Star Wars nerd, but my fiance' whole heartily disagrees. What designates a full fledged SW nerd? Regardless, at least I am not a trekkie. Now THAT would be embarrassing.

Anna Nicole Smith
We barely knew thee. Well except maybe for many a naked picture and several steamy B-Movies for cinemax like channels. Trim Spa, good luck now.

They're Here

An ordinance was passed in a small town in Canada recently. The fact that the new bill had to specifically state that it is ILLEGAL for men(the small town has recently become inundated with Muslims who practice a form of radical Islam) to throw acid on women, beat them with sticks, divorce them by just saying so, etc. A host of other decrees are part of the new ordinance, but you get the picture. It is absolutely scary to think the town felt the need to tell its "new" citizens that it is wrong to kill, maim, torture women, based on their Sharia beliefs. What is even scarier is that some rights group, hell it could be the ACLU, said the town was being hostile to immigrants. Well if those immigrants think or act the way that is stated above, so be it. I did not realize there was a need to tell people NOT to do those things to women. F'n unbelievable. Get a real clue.

Does she think our short term memory is THAT bad?!!?

Proving once again that she and other Libs like her will say whatever is popular, Hilary Clinton spoke in Iowa this weekend, denouncing her role in the Iraq War vote of 2002. She said what she signed up for(and voted for) was not what she had originally thought. This sounds too reminiscent of John Kerry's infamous "I voted for the war before I voted against it" debacle. She was trashing the Commander and Chief once again for being solely responsible for the war. As if a majority congress vote was not needed to send troops in. FLASHBACK 2002: Hilary Clinton's presentation to the Code Pink female anti-war group. She said she had to disagree with their stance because she believed that Saddam Hussein would not stop his actions and that he deserved to be removed from power. She had said in 2002, that she had done her own research on Iraq and listened to people's opinions that she fully trusted before making her decision. She said those opinions were made outside of party lines, therefore had the integrity of truth behind it. Hillary cannot escape her vote for the war, her continued( until recently) support of the fact that we cannot pull out now, until the Iraqi people/government is ready to take full control of the peace. This is a BIG problem for the 2008 candidate since many of her Democratic competitors have been against the War much longer, ie, shortly after they voted for it in 2003. She stated this weekend that she was duped by President Bush and his administrations' agenda, into voting for this war. SOMEBODY PLEASE tell me how the "Smartest Woman in the World" could possibly be duped by what many consider an inferior intellect in the White House? She had the same information that Bush and all the Senate/House members had. That was very similar to our so called "allies" intelligence of Germany, France and Russia, claiming that Saddam had WMD. They were not found. Obviously. However, she has stated time and again since 2002 that she supported the war and wanted to see it thru to victory. Now here she is running for president and she is hoping the American people do not remember a thing about the past. This is not the first time a liberal has done a complete 180 based on what an opinion pole has showed. This is not an untried tactic, except that when it is done, you cannot have 100 different sound bites and print clips stating the EXACT OPPOSITE of what you are saying today!! Show the American people some respect for being somewhat intelligent. Granted we are not as smart as Hilary Clinton, but then again, we weren't duped by George W Bush. We supported this cause from day 1.

The Democratic party / The Socialist party...Can you tell them apart? (guest posting)
This post comes from a contributor from the Raleigh area. Any thoughts about this? BD
The train is still rollin'
The Rams of Virginia Commonwealth just won another HUGE road game at Drexel today. This brings them to 18-3 overall and undefeated in the CAA conference. This was the second big road victory for the rams this week. They took the game in Northern Virginia on Wednesday vs last year's Cinderella Story, George Mason. Heading back home to the friendly confines of the Siegel Center for an inter conference game, VCU will entertain the Tribe of William and Mary on Monday nite. As mentioned in the earlier post, gotta give the praise to the Mid Majors out there. Come tourney time, count the number of games lost by the "Big" conferences 4-6 seeds at the hands of the smaller school. Bet.

Some Respect for the Mid Majors Please!!
Proving once again that good teams from smaller conferences deserve as much a chance at the March Madness Glory as any team, especially the pathetic #7's and 8's from the "Big" conferences, the V.C.U. Rams beat league rivals O.D.U. Monarchs 80-75 at home last night. (nice run on sentence, huh?)This brings their record to 16-3. They are undefeated in the C.A.A. conference and undefeated on the road(2 losses on neutral floors, 1 loss at home). Even if the Rams do not finish the season strong, teams like this still deserve a shot at the Big Dance, even if they do not win their conference tournament. After George Mason stunned the world last year with a final four appearance, Hofstra went deep into the N.I.T, and neither won their conference tournament, mid major conferences deserve every one's respect. I have stopped even blinking an eye when a Wake Forest falls in the first round of the NCAA tourney, when they were over ranked at a 4 seed, yet finished 5th in the ACC. And usually the team beating the also rans of the big conferences are the teams from the mid majors. For all that is holy and sacred to NCAA basketball, please take a closer look at the smaller schools when it come time for the big selection.

Are they @$%#& serious???
Some genius on Capital Hill has submitted a bill that would allow ILLEGAL ALIENS the opportunity to collect social security after working only 18 months!!!! That means that not only are you giving these criminals the ability to collect from our dangerously low and soon to be completely drained coffers of social security, but they can do this in 8.5 years less than the average citizen can collect social security. You and I(real American citizens who pay taxes and support the economy of our great nation) have to work at least 10 years before we can start collecting S.S. That would mean that these aliens would have to break the laws several more times just to collect their checks. They would need to come up with fake IDs, as well as fake social security numbers to collect. Well ain't that nice. We are not only rewarding them for working in our country illegally, but we are making them even more criminal to collect their rewards. Our country is fucking idiotic at times. I cannot believe someone that was voted into office actually thinks this is a good idea. Before long, the reasons that people are fleeing Mexico will be in our own back yards and we will have acted too late. Get these fucks out of our country and enact measures to keep their brethren out as well. Come thru the front door and I will welcome you with open arms. A self proclaimed intellect liberal once said, when our forefathers got to this country, they were all illegal aliens as well. Yeah, and how did THAT work out for the native Americans then?!!?

Merry Christmas to the easily offended
For everyone partaking in this holiday season, best wishes for a joyous holiday with friends and families. If that be Christmas, hanukkah, etc, great. Just dont be offended if I or anyone else wishes you Merry Christmas. This country was founded on freedom of religion, but at the time, that religion was Christianity. Whatever you celebrate, fine! I do not care. Have fun, eat, drink and be merry. Just stop forcing your agenda on malls, department stores, etc, demanding they stop using the term "Christmas" because it is not what YOU celebrate. Last I checked, about 85% of this country still celebrates Christmas and you are in the minority so shut the hell up and celebrate whatever it is you celebrate and leave the rest of us alone.

When will anyone actually listen to this guy?
Once again, President "Tom" of Iran has made several threatening remarks to Europe, The United States and other allies, threatening us all again with Jihad and Armageddon. His seems to be mixing praises for Democrats and those not interested in stopping his nuclear program along with predicting the death and destruction of every other person in Europe or the U.S. It seem he "needs" the nuclear reactor for power. Only, Iran sits on top of one of the most abundant oil reserves in the world. Not so much a need there. He said any sort of sanctions will cause whomever imposing them to be sorry. Funny how the media looks at President Tom and sees a man who wants peace and just wants to be left alone. I guess they are not actually listening to him when he talks about exterminating the US and Israel at every opportunity. Sorry, but to turn to him for advice on the Iraq situation is like turning to Jeffrey Dahmer about how to treat young black youths. Just not going to work. For God's sake people, do not trust this man, do not help propagate his agenda. Remember: Hitler said in 1938 that he wanted peace and was not planning on invading Poland(Glenn Beck). The world wanted to believe this, so we did nothing. Guess where that sort of thinking got us?!!

Crying over Spilt Dominican Beer?
For those unaware, it seems Albert Pujols has a problem coming in Runner up to Ryan Howard of the Philadelphia Phillies for National League MVP. He seems to think that because his team made the playoffs and Howard's didnt, that makes him the better choice. Obviously, he does not seem to remember that the Phillies happened to finish 2 games ahead of Pujol's Cardinals in the Won Loss columns this year. It just so happens, the Cardinals play in a weaker league. So, which team did better? The one that one more games or the one that happened to finish first in a weaker division. So much for the "no I in Team" ay Albert?
To the good folks at US Airways...Keep up the good work. You just earned my business.
Seems the Muslim men who were removed from a US Airways plane for suspicious behavior have asked all Muslims to boycott this airlines. Well that seals the deal for me. That is now my airline of choice.
