Optimism Wanes

As the NFL season draws to a close(yes I know there are 5 games left for most teams), I have to turn my early optimism for the Washington Redskins into simple gratitude that they have a better than .500 record. A few weeks ago, the Redskins scaled to the top 5 power ranking by beating both the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles to go 4 and 1. Everyone then decided that this team was a force to reckon with and apologized to the Redskins for pre season remarks about what was surely to be a poor season. Now, 6 games later, the skins have gone 3 and 3 and have not beatin a team with a winning record. Tonight they continued the trend of squeaking by a lesser team, while being in jeopardy of losing the entire time. With 20 points this week, a total some would call an offensive explosion, the team endured. However, as many of the leagues best teams are scoring 30, 40, or even 50 points in some games, the skins continue to struggle in the red zone. They have failed to score in the 30's once this year and have rarely made it into the 20's. Not so impressive for a team with a one time top 5 power ranking. Clinton Portis continues to lay it out each week, regardless of the injuries that he seems to collect thru out a game. He is proving his toughness with every carry. I must admit, I have underestimated him as a back. Now, for the ones I take aim at as far as being most to blame for the offensive ineptitude. Jason Campbell- I realize he has had to endure 7+ offensive schemes and coordinators in the last 8 years, but lets face it, he is not a franchise QB. At best, he is a quarterback that can make some plays, but not the big plays. As a fan, you can only hope that he does not lose the game for you. That should be his goal each game, to keep the Skins in the game and lesson his mistakes. Cause God only knows, he does not do much in the way of on field heroics.
Next, Antwan Randel El. What a waste of space. Not only has he dropped numerous balls at the most inopportune times, he absolutely sucks as a punt returner. He either does one of two things these days. He fair catches most opportunities regardless of where he is on the field or how many yards he has between him and the closest defender. Or, he gains a maximum of 2 yards per return. For the amount he cost this team to acquire, he has been a true let down. Even if he has the ability(though we have rarely seen it) to throw a TD pass, he doesnt get the job done. Brandon Lloyd would be a welcome site these days.
Enough of that. I love this team, but I am tired of getting my hopes up for a team that has not been able to score more than 20pts in the past 4 to 5 years. Here's hoping to a good draft/free agent off-season to shore up those areas that affect this team most. And by the way, could we possibly get a few receivers that are taller than 5'8? Wow, at the least the Fun Bunch of the 80's had 1 receiver over 6 feet tall.

WELCOME TO THE NEW U.S.S.R. The United States Socialists Republic

That't right folks. You voted for change on November 4th, but God only knows what that change will look like. If you actually LISTENED to the Messiah during his entire campaign, he spoke of what that change will look like. It's called socialism. For all those that think socialism is a good thing, do some research on every socialist nation around today and those that existed in the past 100 years. It is not a good thing. Regardless of the mess this country may be in currently(and yes the Democrats are just as much to blame as Republicans), Capitalism and Democracy are such a blessing. And by the way...when did letting the government run anything ever work out? Please name a federal program that isnt knee deep in corruption and ineptitude, while costing the tax payers billions of dollars. This is just a brief smattering of what will follow, cuz believe me folks, it is only the beginning. November 4th did one thing. It changed the face of the greatest nation in the world. How so and by how much? We will have to wait and see. By until then, thanks America. You get whatever comes your way. For better(but probably) much much worse.

Yes Its Been Awhile

Sorry for the inactivity as of late. Too much going on to be able to wax poetically on all the things going on recently. Where to start? How about the Democratic convention. Screw that! I cannot think of anything nice to say so, as mama always told me....Anyways, if one wants to examine Mr Barry's(yes, his name in college before Michelle decided he should be an elitist) records on voting, campaign backers in Chicaco, as well as his "Best Bud" in which he announced his presidency from his HOUSE, please feel free to look it up. You will NOT see anything of the sort on the news. There is a fucking surprise. They are painting Gov Palin as a cross b/w a corrupt, bad parenting, worthless husband marrying, inexperienced rube(and this is all the nice things) but they will on every occasion overlook the BLATANT shit that Barry has done in his career. Now I know my uncle will say that you shouldnt look at things someone does or says 20 years ago. Very true. But if my uncle should search a few areas of interest, he may find some disturbing things. His rise to power in Chicago politics, his very recent mentoring by a white hating, country hating, man of GOD, his founding and current support of a non-profit socialistic organization(which his wife was CEO) which was used to fund other campaign goals of his as well, the aforementioned friend that had a nasty habit of blowing up shit that was related to this country or the govenment back in the 60s as well as preaching to KILL the "rich man"(now uncle, he does not get a pass on the violence thing whether it was 40 years ago or what)or any other thing that has surfaced but been ignored by the drive byes. Yes, that was one hell of a run on sentence, but I am not a writer. Just a man with concerns over the future of this country. Call me an ole softy.

Bush...The Gothem City Dark Knight??

What Bush and Batman Have in Common
By ANDREW KLAVAN
July 25, 2008; Page A15

A cry for help goes out from a city beleaguered by violence and fear: A beam of light flashed into the night sky, the dark symbol of a bat projected onto the surface of the racing clouds . . .

Oh, wait a minute. That's not a bat, actually. In fact, when you trace the outline with your finger, it looks kind of like . . . a "W."

Warner Bros. Pictures
There seems to me no question that the Batman film "The Dark Knight," currently breaking every box office record in history, is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war. Like W, Batman is vilified and despised for confronting terrorists in the only terms they understand. Like W, Batman sometimes has to push the boundaries of civil rights to deal with an emergency, certain that he will re-establish those boundaries when the emergency is past.

And like W, Batman understands that there is no moral equivalence between a free society -- in which people sometimes make the wrong choices -- and a criminal sect bent on destruction. The former must be cherished even in its moments of folly; the latter must be hounded to the gates of Hell.

"The Dark Knight," then, is a conservative movie about the war on terror. And like another such film, last year's "300," "The Dark Knight" is making a fortune depicting the values and necessities that the Bush administration cannot seem to articulate for beans.

Conversely, time after time, left-wing films about the war on terror -- films like "In The Valley of Elah," "Rendition" and "Redacted" -- which preach moral equivalence and advocate surrender, that disrespect the military and their mission, that seem unable to distinguish the difference between America and Islamo-fascism, have bombed more spectacularly than Operation Shock and Awe.

Why is it then that left-wingers feel free to make their films direct and realistic, whereas Hollywood conservatives have to put on a mask in order to speak what they know to be the truth? Why is it, indeed, that the conservative values that power our defense -- values like morality, faith, self-sacrifice and the nobility of fighting for the right -- only appear in fantasy or comic-inspired films like "300," "Lord of the Rings," "Narnia," "Spiderman 3" and now "The Dark Knight"?

The moment filmmakers take on the problem of Islamic terrorism in realistic films, suddenly those values vanish. The good guys become indistinguishable from the bad guys, and we end up denigrating the very heroes who defend us. Why should this be?

The answers to these questions seem to me to be embedded in the story of "The Dark Knight" itself: Doing what's right is hard, and speaking the truth is dangerous. Many have been abhorred for it, some killed, one crucified.

Leftists frequently complain that right-wing morality is simplistic. Morality is relative, they say; nuanced, complex. They're wrong, of course, even on their own terms.

Left and right, all Americans know that freedom is better than slavery, that love is better than hate, kindness better than cruelty, tolerance better than bigotry. We don't always know how we know these things, and yet mysteriously we know them nonetheless.

The true complexity arises when we must defend these values in a world that does not universally embrace them -- when we reach the place where we must be intolerant in order to defend tolerance, or unkind in order to defend kindness, or hateful in order to defend what we love.

When heroes arise who take those difficult duties on themselves, it is tempting for the rest of us to turn our backs on them, to vilify them in order to protect our own appearance of righteousness. We prosecute and execrate the violent soldier or the cruel interrogator in order to parade ourselves as paragons of the peaceful values they preserve. As Gary Oldman's Commissioner Gordon says of the hated and hunted Batman, "He has to run away -- because we have to chase him."

That's real moral complexity. And when our artistic community is ready to show that sometimes men must kill in order to preserve life; that sometimes they must violate their values in order to maintain those values; and that while movie stars may strut in the bright light of our adulation for pretending to be heroes, true heroes often must slink in the shadows, slump-shouldered and despised -- then and only then will we be able to pay President Bush his due and make good and true films about the war on terror.

Perhaps that's when Hollywood conservatives will be able to take off their masks and speak plainly in the light of day.

Judge scores one against the shoe bomber and every other country hating American out there.

Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it?

Did you know his trial is over?
Did you know he was sentenced?
Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio?

Didn't think so.!!!

Everyone should hear what the judge had to say.

Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court.

Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say. His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his "allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the religion of Allah," defiantly stating, "I think I will not apologize for my actions," and told the court "I am at war with your country."

Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:

January 30, 2003, United States vs. Reid.

Judge Young: "Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court imposes upon you.

On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4 and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.)

On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines.

The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further.

This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a righteous sentence.

Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say that to everyone with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As human beings, we reach out for justice.

You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier. You are not----- you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice.

So war talk is way out of line in this court. You are a big fellow. But you are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the press and the TV crews were, and he said: "You're no big deal."

You are no big deal.

What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led you here to this courtroom today?

I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record, it comes as close to understanding as I know.

It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom. It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom. So that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly, individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in their representation of you before other judges.

We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake though. It is yet true that we will bear any burden; pay any price, to preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure.

Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America , the American people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape and refine our sense of justice.

See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America . That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands for freedom. And it always will.

Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down.

So, how much of this Judge's comments did we hear on our TV sets? We need more judges like Judge Young, but that's another subject. Pass this around. Everyone should and needs to hear what this fine judge had to say. Powerful words that strike home. God Bless America

Already tired of the 2008 election?

Well it seems we are finally ready to begin Election 08. Whoopdi fuckin do!! McCain v Barrack. What a choice folks. We have one person that brags about how many times he has crossed political parties to sit with the Democrats. The other, brags that he has NEVER crossed political lines to solve national issues. Wow!! Seems to me we have two democrat/liberals running for both the Rep and Dem tickets. Again, what a choice. I am not real sure what we would get with McCain as a president. But I sure know what the hell we get with Mr. Obama. He has voted for and promises future tax increases(the most we have ever seen at one time), more government regulation on our daily lives and supporting the most liberal policies in the Senate. Hmmmmm? Raising taxes to record levels......promoting more government involvement in our private lives.......Gee Mr. Obama, that CHANGE you have been preaching for the past year sounds a whole hell of a lot like every other liberal that has run for public office. Please tell me how outrageous taxes during your future "tenure"(God it pains me to even hypothesize that) is going to stimulate our economy and drive our capitalistic machine back to world prominance? You cant. That is why you will continue to bark change for the sake of change with no ideas, policies, opinions to make any real change that is necessary in this country.

Gun Control

The third place winner of the 2008 Darwin Awards teaches us all a lesson about gun control.
After stepping around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door, a man walked into H&J Leather & Firearms intent on robbing the store. The shop was full of customers and a uniformed officer was standing at the counter.
Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up, and fired a few wild shots from a target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly returned fire, and several customers also drew their guns and fired.
Paramedics pronounced the robber dead at the scene. Crime scene investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds from 7 different weapons.
Absolutely NO ONE ELSE was hurt.
This is my definition of gun control.

Stop the Madness!!! (too bad Susan Powder is bankrupt)

Is anyone else just over the primaries at this point in time? I havent watched, listened, etc. to anything having to do with the Democratic(socialist, fascist) Party for quite some time. Frankly, my life has been much happier not listening to complete asinine BS that spews from pretty much everything they say. If anyone feels that Universal HealthCare will work in this country, you are completely uninformed. There is a reason that England, Canada, Germany, France, the poster children for Universal Healthcare are starting to think a private health care system may be the way to go. Take a struggling economy that already spends nearly 80 billion dollars on the medicare/medicaid programs(which makes us more socialistic than any of the countries listed above), add healthcare for 300,000,000 people and watch the fall out. Since this country never seems to repeal bad social programs, we will then be stuck with medicare/medicaid,welfare,universal healthcare, along with the other programs that allow me to spend my hard earned money for some asshole that cant get a fucking job(medicare excluded). No thanks. Obama and Hilary, keep talking the talk because if you walk the walk, our economy as we know it will collapse. Well, who the hell cares, as long as the unemployed, welfare collecting scurds of society get a handout from all of us working stiffs, your party will remain happy.

Lindsey Lohan Naked!! Full Photos(What? No takers) Well how about George Lindsey Goober Naked?

Oh hell, this is just fun. Obama supporters, shut the f*** up!!

Mussolini he isn't, but not far from it.

March Madness

Yes folks, it's that time of year. When dreams are dashed, cinderella stories become the all the rage and things really get down and dirty. And I mean DIRTY. Yes folks, it's the end of the Democratic Primaries. And unlike the NCAA tournament that has millions watching and participating no one cares. We have two candidates that could not be farther from my personal beliefs. One, a socialistic, stone cold ice queen and the other a facist, anti American M.L.K. wanna be. Thanks Dems for those choices. Hell with those two, Gore would come off very Reaganesk. As they wind down their campaign, one will rev up a new one towards the presidency. That's about as scary a thought as I can imagine. Here's hoping that once a Democratic choice is made, America will see these people for what they are and what they CANNOT do for this country. I am sorry, but anyone who hates this country as much as these people seem to, do not deserve to be its Commander and Chief. Just a thought folks.

George Bush 2008!!!! A third term!!!

Hey, why not. Between McCain, Billary, and Terrorist boy, would that be so bad??

OBAMA.....A TERRORIST?!!!!

Who the hell cares? I find most of his policies and his borderline fascist beliefs much more appalliing than I do the fact he may harbour Muslim tendencies. By tendencies, yes, I mean terrorism. I am not grouping the entire religion into one niche, but hey, I can never find pacifist Muslims denouncing the extremists, so...
Oh well. And maybe his facist beliefs fit right into his "hidden extremist" agenda?
He becomes president, is instrumental in allowing the govenment to take a much stronger control of our personal lives, and slowly but surely the little terrorist inside of Obama has a get together at the White House and 20 or 30 of his little terrorist friends starts destroying our civilization as we know it. It could happen. Not really. Again, look at his policies and you'll see that he goes right past socialism and straight into facism without blinking an eye.
